Glasluckan improves upstream processes with i3D
Good product and modern tools as a precondition for growth
Focused on glass and aluminium structures, especially its own production and the Glasluckan product family, Glasluckan brings 30 years of strong expertise to the glass and aluminium industry. High quality guarantees a good product package, but in addition to this, the upstream tooling must be up to date. Before i3D, Glasluckan’s sales work was very diverse and even overly so. The ways were not as standardised as they could be and i3D was able to meet this challenge.
”We used to do a lot of manual work in design on several different platforms. Moving data from one place to another increased the risk of errors.” says CEO Markus Koljander.
Improving the synergy between sales and order book
After the introduction of i3D, Glasluckan was able to accelerate and standardise sales. Although the system was rolled out on a product-by-product basis, the use of the common glazing products in i3D has also helped the overall sales effort. Within the first few months, Glasluckan noticed an improvement in both the volume and speed of sales. The system generates, among other things, an automatic quotation, a picking list and an optimised sawing list based on configuration options, which significantly speeds up the whole process from design to sales and from production to delivery.
i3D as part of dealer management
The agile and innovative system provides a management capability for the dealer network, making it easy for Glasluckan to receive orders. With more than 20 dealerships across Finland, the easy ordering system allows dealers to place orders directly with the producer, reducing the risk of errors and thus improving the security of the order supply chain. Similarly, the system provides 3D models for end customers, making offers more visual and facilitating the customer’s decision making process.
”When the same information flows from sales to manufacturing, it reduces repetitive work and therefore errors. The cooperation with i3D has gone well because they have strong domain knowledge of the industry and products, as well as the necessary design work”, adds Markus Koljander.
Looking ahead, the whole Glasluckan team is looking forward to sunny days on our terraces and a digital revolution in the construction industry together with i3D.
